PostSubject: Rescue Girl No. 2 - Holly   Wed Aug 03, 2011 8:56 am

This is Holly - chocolate female, will be one in September - currently assumed to be pregnant which means she will potentially have had two litters before she is 1 with the second litter being far too early in my opinion.

She is registered and I know her breeder (now retired) so will be contacting her to get her registration papers forwarded over.

Holly was described as grumpy and whilst she does pop at you when you first lift her out she soon settles down - if she is pregnant (highly likely) she will be entering her fourth week so not an ideal time to be giving an accurate description of her character as some of my female hoggies get to the stage where they do not want over handling whilst preparing to give birth. Her previous litter had five in total although she did destroy one of the litter, possibly a runt? She is not used to a nesting box having slept under a fleece blanket so at the moment she has a very cosy tunnel that she is sleeping in and I am hoping that she will take to her nest box shortly. She is not used to meat in her diet or veg as it was only given as a treat, as she is pregnant I am feeding chicken with either carrots, peas or sweetcorn and her biscuits and dried mealworms and she is being given a pinch of vits on her food to boost her during her final week/s of pregnancy.

Her second night and she loves her wheel, has toileted on the kitchen roll and has eaten her food - the change does not seem to have affected her.

Mel has been back in touch with me regarding Holly.

Her mum was Amber who was originally one of my babies whose mum was Holly - I have asked her for some more information so hopefully will be able to post shortly.

No babies as of yet

This morning I have heard baby squeaks coming from Holly's home this morning so I think that we have our very first litter of rescue babies.

Going on the timings Pam, it would make Suzie due possibly from next Saturday.

Didn't post this before as Pammie has Suzie who is also suspected of being pregnant but sadly, Holly destroyed her litter a couple of days after they were born - under the circumstances I can totally understand this as she was moved in the latter part of her pregnancy.

She is a lot happier in herself now - she is still a little huffy when first lifted out but soon unballs and although I would dearly love to keep her due to the family connections with my herd I feel that there is a loving home waiting for her hopefully with a forum member.

She has lineage back to her great, great grandparents and her registration papers can be forwarded to any interested party.

Please pm if you are able to give this gorgeous girl a new loving home

Thanks
x
