Meet Yolo (You only live once - stupid name)

I fell in love with her yesterday at the country fair at Timperley where Erin Hounds had a stand - she is more or less the same age as Emma and is an ex racer.

She is just adorable, so cuddly and she is doing badly in kennels.

Heart said - bring her home there and then - as I have had Emma from them, I could have done this but head said, better to introduce all three dogs on neutral ground more to see how Diddy and Yolo will react to each other.

Seriously thinking of fostering/adopting her - Nick has said he will go halves on dog food and insurance.

Mum and Dad will probably see their backsides, but my dogs give me so much pleasure and Emma loves to be around other snoozers - they don't take up any room and you hardly know you have them.

I am going to walk with her the week after next initially and then shall have to have a long, hard think.

We do like Fern, Lily and Skye though!

Read somewhere recently that it is better to introduce on neutral ground. That way your dogs feel that they have invited her to share your home and that she is not an intruder.
She looks a lovely dog Smile

She is lovely - such a loving girl - considering how they are treated and often dumped when they cannot race etc, it never ceases to amaze me how loving and trusting they can be - humans are horrible to animals when it suits them to be x

She s gorgeous hunny and I bet she is so glad she has a home with you now. I love greyhounds, I have fussed many when I have been out and they are always affectionate, even the ones which race regularly, there is no temperament with them. Please keep us updated.

Hugs

Only Nick's seat - I have my sofa and whilst I will share with them, I will not sit on the floor for anybody!

That's awesome that you are rescuing ex-racers! She is so cute! I love dogs!

We've introduced dogs many times, we own 6 ourselves and have pet-sat for over twelve other dogs, and as long as they know you are the boss, they will except who you except (eventually Smile )

We've found that girl dogs tend to be WAY harder to introduce then the boys. Just a fact in our house, the girls are more likely to disobey, fight, pee in the house, steal off the table, not come when called, ect. But they are still so good at being cute we can't help but forgive them!

I have been and walked her today - Emma our greyhound was just Emma, not a malicious bone in her body and they walked lovely together.

Diddy Dog - little bit snappy especially when she came to me for a cuddle. She isn't doing well in kennels at all - have a lot of thinking to do but shall not be rushing into this as I have a full day out next Sunday and the option of having her and then putting her back in kennels for the weekend, doesn't sit well with me at all - better to have her and be at home with her.

Emma doesn't come to her name if she gets out - we have found this out!! She is lead walked and gets a good long walk and is fine with it - and yes, they are always forgiven, those eyes just look up at you and ping - melted puddle on the floor!
