Stuart says they are great - they tame down really well but make sure you get one from a breeder rather than a pet shop - they also sleep on their backs with their feet in the air.

It's been a struggle to find a breeder as I have looked.

I was looking at RFUK and someone mentioned them as pets and I fell in love.

Stuart said they kept them in same sex pairs and knows of other keepers who do the same but not sure if they do as well singularly but said you should find some info on the net regarding this x

Me too, Paul will have to be in a very good mood LOL!! What an adorable gentle and docile little chap, I have fallen in love. Thank you for sharing the video hun. Is there any literature available about their care please? Is the tail a source of food storage?

Hugs

It's used for food and water like a camel hump. The thickness is an indicator of health.

Their care is similar to a gerbil or hamster. Too be fair there isn't that much information about them other than the links posted by Nellie.

The viv I have will need to be strengthened to stop chewing as the back panel is very thin. Found some acrylic plastic which will be easy to cut to size. We've bought a big bale of wood chippings, hay and bedding along with some huts. I bought a hollowed out coconut shell.

They also use a sand pit so have bought a large ceramic corner food bowl for the job. As soon as the viv is kitted out we will post some pictures.

I need to think of names preferably boys. I like Monroe but OH doesn't.
