PostSubject: Heating xx   Mon Sep 02, 2013 11:36 pm

Can anyone tell me what I need & the best way to install a CHE (think that's what I mean!)? I have a max 600w habistat proportional thermostat already - would that work? Don't trust my heat mat or the weather so getting prepared in advance for the cold.

thanks in advance xx

Hi Christine, the best way to install a CHE is to fix t securely to the ceiling of the viv and connect it to the thermostat. I'm sure the stat that you have is the right one...

Hang on a sec whilst I just search through some posts for you.

Sorry for the rather large photies but I had to copy and paste them! I'm rubbish I am!

You would have to check the correct wattage on the bulb, but the above thermostat is ideal. All you need then is the white plast bulb holder which you can pck up for next to nothing, I'm sure Very Happy

That large I can't see them!

Christine, you need a ceramic heat bulb holder - the plug comes off so you can pop the wire through the vent - get some cable clips and secure the wire to the roof of the vivarium - pop your bulb in - 60 watt for your viv would be fab - if you are not sure I am more than happy to pop over with my trusty hammer to sort it out for you xx

Thanks Melody - I can't see the photos either but I think I know what you mean!

Thanks Helen, I will give it a go next week Smile if all goes haywire I shall get in touch! Wasn't sure what to call it, knew it was ceramic something. Can you get the holders off eBay? Xx
