okay ive been looking for some other kind of exotic or just unusual pets

i am really interested in having chipmunks but ill save that for the future when i have moved out so i can get a reall BIG cage or aviary, bigger than what mom and dad would like haha Razz so i have decided for now to wait a few years for chipmunks

but i would love some other kind of cute and unusual animal, have you got any ideas

list of things i dont want;

-any kind of lizard or snake (eurghh scary)
-fish (unless really cute!) but they cant be handled Sad
-spiders or other insects
-anything quite common like a hamster or guinea pig Smile

apart from that any ideas?

i would love some kind of squirrel.. obviously chipmunks are similar, the flying squirrel or sugar gliders are an option and prairie dogs too but, i havnt researched them yet though, thought id get some ideas from you guys any other ideas would be bloomin fantastic hehe Very Happy

xx

Tayer, Rats are one of the best pets that you can have. They are what I used to keep before the hoggies Very Happy

I used to teach mine all kinds of tricks. You need the best size cage for them that you can get and they are so intelligent that hey need mental stimulation more than anything. They are like border collies!

You can keep one on its own but it would be unfair if you didn't give it the attention it craves...

I am tempted...I have spoken to the person who has them...she said I could have 1 if I was to interact with it every day...
And I wouldn't want it to have a cage...bit to free run...but cage at night...!

Still thinking about it...
It's made me think about one since we went to London dungeons and the bloke had 1on his shoulder...and we had a stroke of it x

Prairie Dogs and Meerkats are troop animals and should be kept in troops - like monkey's - not keen on them being in the pet trade at all.

Chinchillas are nice - it is the tail on a rat I am not keen on but I think I would get over that .

I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally want a lesser hedgehog tenrec!!! I've had problems finding anyone nearby who breeds them though. So far they are all down south or right up the top end of Scotland. If anyone knows of someone in the northwest please let me know.

I'm semi pinching your thread Jake - I hope you don't mind? I've been offered a 2ft viv for free and I was wondering if I did take it what kind of animal can live in one? It's 2ft x 16".

Ideas anyone? x x
